Program Costs

What it costs for a boy to join, and exactly how to pay.

Boys who wish to become Trailmen are required to become registered members of Trail Life USA. Parents and guardians facilitate this by registering on the Trail Life Connect platform and paying annual national dues. Trailmen also make annual contributions to the troop (local dues). Lastly, Trailmen maintain the uniform standard set by Trail Life and the troop leadership, which requires purchasing uniform items.

Annual National Dues

The Trail Life youth membership fee is $37.97 per year, plus a small processing fee at registration. Budget about $45 per year per boy for national registration. Paid directly to Trail Life USA through Trail Life Connect (TLC).

Annual Local Troop Dues

  • $50 / year — Woodlands Trail (Foxes, Hawks, Mountain Lions)
  • $75 / year — Navigators & Adventurers

Local dues cover one copy of each Trailman's Handbook, a Trail Life lanyard, all earned awards, troop recharter fees, and help offset the cost of local activities. There is a $5 late fee for dues paid after the requested date.
