hickorygrovepca.orgWhat "charter organization" means
Every Trail Life USA troop is chartered by a local church that shares its mission and provides spiritual covering, leadership accountability, and a place to meet. Troop TN-5667 is chartered by — and is a ministry of — Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church. HGPC's elders pray for our boys and leaders, support our program, and stand behind the biblical convictions that shape everything we do on the trail.
About Hickory Grove
Hickory Grove is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, deeply rooted in the Reformed Protestant tradition — solid biblical teaching, warm evangelical devotion, and a loving family of brothers and sisters in Christ. Sunday worship blends contemporary praise songs and hymns alongside careful exposition of Scripture and faithful administration of the sacraments.
The style is reverent yet casual. Whether you arrive in jeans, a suit, or something in between, you'll fit right in. Families of all church backgrounds are warmly welcomed.
Statement of Faith
We are a loving family that glorifies God by building people up in Christ. All are welcome to come and worship with us at the church. If you can't be here in person, you can always check out our live stream.
We believe…
God calls us to lives of purity, service, stewardship, and integrity:
Purity
God calls us to lives of holiness, being pure of heart, mind, word and deed in both body and soul. In the body, specifically, sexual activity is to be reserved for marriage, a lifelong commitment before God between one man and one woman (Lev 11:44; 1 Pet 1:15-17; 1 Thess 4:1-8).
Service
God calls us to become responsible members of our community and the world through selfless acts that contribute to the welfare of others (Gen 2:15; Jer 29:7; Gal 6:10).
Stewardship
God calls us to use our God-given time, talents, and money wisely — for His glory and the good of others (Ps 90:12; Matt 25:14-30; Eph 5:15-16).
Integrity
God calls us to grow up, by grace, into the image of Christ and to take up our cross as we follow Him, living with the moral courage to bring all our words, thoughts, and deeds into conformity with Scripture, regardless of the cost (2 Cor 3:17-18; 1 Tim 6:12-16).
